OnlyFans, a popular subscription video platform, has donated 500 ETH (roughly $1.3 million) to UkraineDAO, an independent organization that supports Ukraine during its war against Russia.

OnlyFans’ Ukrainian-American owner Leonid Radvinsky told CoinDesk the donation is part of the company’s more considerable charitable effort to support Ukraine.

More than $5 million has already been donated to various humanitarian efforts in the country, with an additional donation of $1 million planned for March 15.

According to Ami Gan, CEO of OnlyFans, the tragic events have had a terrible impact on many individuals, including members of the creator community. OnlyFans’ goal was to provide aid and support to the Ukrainian people in a way that reflected who we are at OnlyFans.

UkraineDAO has been a significant contributor to Ukraine’s government in recent years. Since tweeting out its ETH and bitcoin addresses in February, it has received over $50 million in crypto donations.

In the DAO, created by Russian art collective Pussy Riot and non-fungible token (NFT) studio Trippy Labs, OnlyFans’ 500 ETH donation contributed to a $6.5 million crowdfunded NFT sale on March 2.

According to a representative of OnlyFans, at the time of OnlyFans’ 500 ETH donation, the DAO was about halfway to its 1,000 ETH reserve. OnlyFans’ donation pushed the total over the top, and from there, more donations poured in.
