Regulator Rules OnlyFans Billboards Are Not Overtly Sexual

The regulator has cleared billboards advertising an explicit social media account featuring a scantily clad model.

Eliza Rose Watson has been featured in Harrow, Tottenham, Lambeth, and Edgware posters alongside the logos of OnlyFans and Instagram.

The complainants claimed that the image was inappropriate for children to view.

However, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) found that the image was not overtly sexual or objectifying of women.

As a result, it was determined that it was unlikely to cause widespread or serious offenses, despite some finding it objectionable.

The complainants, who understood that OnlyFans is an internet content subscription service that offers adult content that may be offensive to children, questioned whether the advertisement should be displayed in a location where children could view it.

According to Watson, the advertisement was designed to avoid offending mature viewers and to “entice the younger generation.”

There were no billboards within 100 meters of a school, according to Amplify Outdoor, the owner of the poster sites. The ASA ruled that no further action was needed since the posters were not placed irresponsibly.
